I am a local artist residing in Clontarf on the beautiful Redcliffe Peninsular. Growing up in Sandgate I was lucky enough to enjoy the wonderful beaches and seaside playgrounds of the bay area.  This is reflected in my Sandgate and Redcliffe (suburbs of Clontarf, Margate, Scarborough, Redcliffe, Woody Point) ‘mud map’ artworks and instilled my love and interest in keeping the memory of character/ heritage buildings of the bay areas.

I was overwhelmed when my painting of Woody Point took out First Prize in the 2016 Bluewater Art Festival and this event started my interest in preserving the character of the bay area. I work mainly in acrylic and mixed media (anything I can get my hands on to give my canvas texture and character).  The ‘mud maps’ are very involved and I take a lot of ‘artistic licence’ when I paint them but all the buildings/houses do actually exist.
